Who are you and where do you dip?
Satyamati Eastbourne, sea.
Your favourite time of day/season/weather for swimming?
All year, prefer the cold.
How cold does the water get where you swim and how does it make you feel?
Exhilarated, fully alive and happy.
How long have you been wild swimming?
Just past my 6th winter.
How did you start, what got you to try it?
Lock down..the gym was closed.
What were you worried about before you started dipping?
I learned to be more aware, after being dumped by a couple of big waves. I realise that dipping with others was helpful.
Do you remember anything from those early dips?

What's your swim routine now?
Nearly every day, if the sea allows.
What kit do you take to each swim?
Dry robe, neoprene gloves, socks and beach shoes. Towel, flask of tea and small hot water bottle.
Worst moment or most embarrassing dip?
Bring smashed down by the waves on one of my first lone dips.
What about your best moment, what keeps you going back?
Joy and exhilaration, I never regret it. Makes me feel alive and happy.

Go with friends.
